Album Notes & Community Reviews

Marking a crucial turning point in his career, Prine entirely bypassed the major label system to independently release this album on his newly formed Oh Boy Records. The stripped-down production focuses squarely on his trademark wit and poignant storytelling, avoiding the slick commercial sheen of 1980s Nashville. It established a fiercely independent blueprint that sustained his legendary songwriting career for decades.
