Album Notes & Community Reviews

Featuring the tightly wound rhythm section of Gary Grainger and Dennis Chambers, the guitarist delivers a masterclass in deeply grooving, modern electric jazz. 'Blue Matter' incorporates sharp, angular phrasing and funky basslines, distancing itself from traditional post-bop formats. The session cemented his reputation as a leading innovator in late-eighties fusion.
