Album Notes & Community Reviews

The virtuoso jazz guitarist steps out with a funky, highly accessible fusion record following his high-profile tenure in Miles Davis's band. 'Electric Outlet' features a heavily rhythmic, synthesizer-augmented sound, highlighted by Scofield's distinctively bluesy, angular guitar phrasing. The recording also prominently features David Sanborn's punchy alto saxophone, bridging complex post-bop with contemporary 1980s grooves.
