Album Notes & Community Reviews

Master jazz guitarist John Scofield delivers a profoundly relaxed, incredibly funky masterclass with 'Groove Elation!'. The album expertly merges the highly sophisticated harmonic structures of post-bop with deeply infectious, New Orleans-inspired soul-jazz rhythms. Featuring a stellar horn section and the impeccable groove of bassist Dennis Irwin, it stands securely as one of the most thoroughly enjoyable, undeniably swinging jazz fusion records of the decade.
