Attempting to reverse a period of commercial decline, the Man in Black partnered with producer Billy Sherrill for a slick, radio-friendly effort. 'The Baron' leans heavily into polished country-pop arrangements, highlighted by the narrative-driven title track that brought him briefly back to the country top ten.
