Album Notes & Community Reviews

Primarily recorded in London and Jamaica, this landmark album was crucial in breaking reggae rhythms to an international pop audience. The production seamlessly blends the breezy, optimistic lilt of rocksteady with the polished vocal delivery of American Southern soul. Bolstered by its universally recognized title track and early compositions by Bob Marley, it is a historically massive crossover success.
