Album Notes & Community Reviews
Recorded during the acoustic blues revival of the late 1970s, 'Too Wet to Plow' showcases legendary Delta bluesman Johnny Shines performing with raw, unmitigated power. Armed with his resonator guitar and a deeply expressive vocal delivery, Shines channels the ghosts of his early days traveling alongside Robert Johnson. The sparse recording captures the authentic, lonely atmosphere of the Mississippi Delta tradition.
