Album Notes & Community Reviews

This stunning collaborative project led by Norwegian jazz pianist Jon Balke features the transcendent vocals of Moroccan singer Amina Alaoui. The album masterfully bridges Andalusian classical traditions with contemporary jazz improvisation and subtle baroque string arrangements. It is a highly meditative, cross-cultural triumph that beautifully honors the historical convergence of Islamic and European art in Moorish Spain.
