Album Notes & Community Reviews

Translating directly to 'Black is Beautiful', this pivotal release sees the legendary Brazilian songwriter openly celebrating Afro-Brazilian identity and the global Black power movement. The arrangements brilliantly marry his intensely rhythmic, acoustic samba-rock groove with sweeping, sophisticated orchestral string sections arranged by Arthur Verocai. It is a profoundly joyful, musically transcendent triumph of MPB.
