Josh at Midnight

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded with stunning acoustic clarity by a young Jac Holzman, this immensely powerful solo session captures the veteran folk-blues pioneer in an incredibly intimate, late-night setting. His highly articulate, incredibly rhythmic Piedmont fingerpicking perfectly underscores his famously smooth, deeply authoritative vocal delivery on a selection of traditional spirituals and work songs. The heavily influential record served as a massive, foundational text for the rapidly expanding collegiate acoustic revival.
