'Scaring the Hoes' is a collaborative work of experimental hip-hop built upon JPEGMAFIA's dense and distorted production, which utilizes a Roland SP-404 sampler to mangle a wide array of sources from gospel to 2000s pop. The resulting instrumentals are raw and abrasive, providing a chaotic foundation for the energetic and witty interplay between his and Danny Brown's vocal performances, creating a critically acclaimed project noted for its unique chemistry and defiantly anti-commercial stance.
