Album Notes & Community Reviews

Operating as a massive, double-disc conceptual rock opera, the sixteenth studio album by the heavy metal legends details the life and prophetic visions of the 16th-century seer. The band largely abandons their signature speed-metal assault in favor of sweeping orchestration, acoustic guitars, layered keyboards, and operatic vocal performances from Rob Halford. While polarizing for purists, the ambition and sprawling scale of the project remain undeniable.
