Album Notes & Community Reviews

With 'In My Life', Judy Collins completely redefined the boundaries of the folk genre by incorporating lush, theatrical orchestral arrangements arranged by Joshua Rifkin. Moving beyond traditional acoustic repertoire, she brought unprecedented sophistication to the emerging works of Leonard Cohen, Randy Newman, and Jacques Brel. It represents a massive artistic leap forward, inventing the parameters of chamber folk.
