Album Notes & Community Reviews
Inspired by the musical 'Gigi' and the city of Los Angeles, 'Loud City Song' is a literary and atmospheric art-pop record. Julia Holter blends chamber instrumentation, field recordings, and her own ethereal vocals to create a sound that is both theatrical and intimate. The album explores the isolation and voyeurism of urban life, moving fluidly between avant-garde jazz textures and structured pop songwriting.
