Album Notes & Community Reviews

Launching his eccentric solo career, Julian Cope crafted a lush, highly melodic exploration of pastoral neo-psychedelia and quirky jangle pop. The album balances incredibly playful, surreal lyricism rooted in childhood nostalgia with rich, beautifully layered acoustic and orchestral arrangements. 'World Shut Your Mouth' marks a brilliant, highly idiosyncratic departure from his post-punk origins with The Teardrop Explodes.
