Album Notes & Community Reviews

Making his debut as a bandleader for the historic Blue Note label, the virtuoso guitarist delivers a highly melodic, effortlessly fluid post-bop recording. Backed by bassist Jorge Roeder and drummer Dave King, 'Squint' bridges complex jazz improvisation with the distinctly twangy, bright tones of classic Americana and early rock and roll. The trio format highlights Lage's extraordinary phrasing and sophisticated harmonic command.
