Album Notes & Community Reviews

With 'Only Everything', Juliana Hatfield significantly beefed up her traditionally jangly indie-pop sound, incorporating thick, fuzzy distortion pedals and heavier, muscular rhythm sections. The record adeptly contrasts its aggressive sonic palette with Hatfield's characteristically delicate vocals and highly introspective lyrics dealing with anxiety and social alienation. It remains a standout document of mid-90s alternative rock, showcasing a brilliant fusion of noise pop aesthetics and deeply infectious melodic hooks.
