Album Notes & Community Reviews

Acting as the definitive muse for the post-war French bohemian scene, Juliette Gr茅co delivers heavily poetic, existential narratives penned by the leading intellectuals of Saint-Germain-des-Pr茅s. Her dark, unadorned vocal style is framed by stark, atmospheric accompaniments that highlight the lyrical gravity of the chanson tradition. The album perfectly distills the romantic, slightly cynical spirit of 1950s Parisian youth culture.
