'Education, Education, Education & War' marks a distinct political pivot for the British indie rock mainstays, featuring highly critical lyricism aimed at contemporary socio-economic policies and the futility of conflict. It is their first record with drummer Vijay Mistry following the departure of primary songwriter Nick Hodgson, forcing the band to adapt their anthemic pop-rock sound. The album successfully revitalized their commercial standing, hitting number one on the UK Albums Chart.
