Album Notes & Community Reviews

Following the sudden departure of frontman Limahl, bassist Nick Beggs assumed vocal duties as the band pivoted toward a more complex, synth-funk direction[cite: 1]. 'Islands' exhibits surprisingly intricate basslines and sophisticated arrangements, moving away from their early teen-idol image. Despite a polished sound and minor chart success, the group struggled to maintain their initial commercial momentum.
