Producer Ibrahima Sylla persuaded Kouyat茅, a celebrated jeli singer from Kita who had long declined record contracts, to make 'Kita Kan', her debut solo album for international release, recorded in Paris. Its nine tracks divide among a European string orchestra, an electric band and traditional kora, balafon and ngoni accompaniment, and include her duet with S茅kouba Bambino, 'Folilalou'.
