Album Notes & Community Reviews
Marking their first collection of entirely new studio material in nearly seven years, 'Freaks of Nature' finds the American progressive rock veterans attempting a highly ambitious return to form. The album largely abandons the slick, AOR pop aesthetics of their 1980s output, leaning heavily back into complex, violin-driven hard rock arrangements. It is frequently cited by fans as a significantly heavier, deeply technical late-career highlight.
