Album Notes & Community Reviews
As the second release from the 2018 'Wyoming Sessions,' 'Ye' is a concise, seven-track hip-hop album created during a famously brief and turbulent two-week period. The production is built on soul samples and features a raw, immediate quality, while the lyrics offer an unfiltered examination of Kanye West's mental health, particularly his bipolar disorder, and his perspectives on fatherhood and recent controversies. With prominent contributions from artists like 070 Shake and Ty Dolla Sign, the album serves as a candid, if stark, snapshot of the artist's psyche at a pivotal moment.
