Album Notes & Community Reviews

Kaoru Abe's 'Partitas' documents the Japanese saxophonist's uncompromising solo improvisational language after his death. The release centers on extreme dynamics, fragmented phrasing, and an intense approach to free improvisation that made Abe a major cult figure in Japanese free jazz.
