Album Notes & Community Reviews

Karate's third album finds the trio moving towards a more restrained, melancholic, and jazz-inflected sound. 'The Bed Is in the Ocean' is a nocturnal and somber record, blending the patient pace of slowcore with their signature intricate, jazz-tinged musicianship and the emotional undercurrent of post-hardcore. It's a brilliant and understated work that showcases their growing sophistication as composers.
