Album Notes & Community Reviews
Formed by JJ Whitefield of the Poets of Rhythm, this incredibly authentic-sounding project masterfully recreates the dusty, heavy grooves of 1970s African funk. Mixing raw Afrobeat polyrhythms with swirling, psychedelic Ethio-jazz horns, the record sounds exactly like a recently unearthed crate-digging treasure from a forgotten era. It was highly acclaimed for its flawless, respectful dedication to classic analog funk production.
