Nile mastermind Karl Sanders steps away from extreme technical death metal to further explore the cinematic, Middle Eastern instrumentation that characterizes his primary band's interludes. The solo album utilizes ba臒lama, glissentar, and extensive tribal percussion to create deeply ominous, ritualistic soundscapes centered around ancient Egyptian mythology. The deeply textured acoustic arrangements emphasize a dark, spiritual ambiance.
