Album Notes & Community Reviews
Functioning as the second act of 'Donnerstag aus Licht'鈥攑art of his monumental 'Licht' opera cycle鈥攖he pioneering German avant-garde composer delivers an incredibly intricate sonic journey. 'Michaels Reise' (Michael's Journey) heavily features his son, Markus Stockhausen, executing breathtakingly complex trumpet passages accompanied by an ensemble playing within incredibly strict serialist parameters. The recording captures the immense ambition and esoteric spirituality of Stockhausen's later career.
