Album Notes & Community Reviews

Making his highly anticipated debut on Warp Records, percussionist and producer Kassa Overall brilliantly obliterates the boundary between modern jazz and alternative hip-hop. 'ANIMALS' features frantic, polyrhythmic drum patterns clashing with abstract synthesizer work and a wide array of prominent guest rappers (including Danny Brown and Lil B). The record is a manic, intensely creative, and conceptually challenging exploration of racial identity and mental health.
