'The End' is the soundtrack to an ambitious, avant-garde multimedia 'vocaloid opera' composed entirely by Keiichiro Shibuya. The album forces the digital idol Hatsune Miku to grapple with concepts of her own mortality and artificiality across stark, glitching electronic soundscapes and sparse modern classical arrangements. It is a highly challenging, philosophically dense exploration of synthetic life and experimental art pop.
