Album Notes & Community Reviews

Showcasing his formidable ambitions beyond jazz improvisation, pianist Keith Jarrett composed and performed this sweeping, three-movement concerto for piano, percussion, and symphony orchestra. 'The Celestial Hawk' was recorded live at Carnegie Hall with the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra. The work heavily draws upon 20th-century romanticism and Third Stream aesthetics.
