Hooke's Law

Album Notes & Community Reviews

On 'Hooke's Law', keiyaA expands her sonic palette into a volatile and genre-defying blend of avant-R&B, woozy electronica, and bass-heavy hip-hop, marked by abrupt beat switches and layered, soulful vocals. The self-produced album serves as a conceptual exploration of pressure and release, using its intricate, and at times claustrophobic, production to underscore lyrical themes of anger, desire, and self-interrogation. Rejecting neat resolutions, the songwriting examines the complexities of identity and relationships, presenting a raw and nonlinear journey of survival and liberation.
