Album Notes & Community Reviews

Produced entirely by The Neptunes, this vibrant debut album introduced the world to a fiercely unique, left-of-center perspective within mainstream R&B. The juxtaposition of the singer's raw, emotionally varied vocal delivery against the incredibly sparse, alien-sounding synthesizer beats created a wildly influential template for 2000s urban pop.
