'Way, 'Way Out

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Operating on the adventurous fringes of the hard bop idiom, this session features striking explorations of unconventional time signatures and angular melodic phrasing. The instrumentalist employs both alto saxophone and flute, navigating complex harmonic frameworks with a distinctly vocalized tone. ''Way, 'Way Out' captures a fertile transitional period where structured post-bop began incorporating looser avant-garde philosophies.
