Album Notes & Community Reviews

Highlighting his uniquely lyrical, slightly understated approach to the trumpet, the veteran bop musician leads a spirited quintet date outside his usual Blue Note residency. The session is notable for the inclusion of a young Steve Kuhn on piano and the strong compositional framework that elevates the standard blowing format.
