Album Notes & Community Reviews

Showcasing the Canadian trumpeter's distinctively lyrical yet structurally daring approach to modern jazz, 'Around 6' assembles a formidable European sextet that includes Evan Parker and Eje Thelin. The recording perfectly balances meticulously orchestrated post-bop frameworks with explosive, uninhibited free jazz improvisations. It remains a highly regarded highlight of the ECM catalog from this era.
