Album Notes & Community Reviews
The Kepler Quartet worked directly with Johnston on the first of three discs with which they completed all ten of his quartets, a project that eventually ran to more than nineteen hundred studio takes. Quartet No. 4, his variations on 'Amazing Grace', is the best-known fruit of his lifelong exploration of extended just intonation.
