Album Notes & Community Reviews
Marking his transition to Island Records, the eccentric ex-Soft Machine bassist delivered a notoriously dark and complex conceptual album. The record is anchored by its sprawling, multi-part title suite, which utilizes discordant vocal contributions from Nico and intricate Canterbury stylings to explore themes of nocturnal disturbance and psychological descent.
