Continuing the stunning reinvention begun on 'Discipline', King Crimson's 'Beat' is heavily inspired by Beat Generation literature and urban paranoia. Robert Fripp and Adrian Belew's intertwining, heavily processed guitar lines dance over Bill Bruford's complex electronic percussion, creating a highly technical, polyphonic, and intensely rhythmic art-rock oddity.
