Album Notes & Community Reviews

Departing drastically from his famous, gritty rhythm and blues saxophone wails, King Curtis explores incredibly lush, formal orchestration on 'Azure'. The album integrates his smooth, vibrato-heavy tenor playing with a sweeping string section, leaning heavily into a romantic, mood-music interpretation of Third Stream concepts.
