Album Notes & Community Reviews

The preeminent R&B saxophonist delivers a tight, highly rhythmic set of instrumental covers that straddle the line between soul jazz and commercial pop. With his famously raspy, staccato playing style leading a stellar backing band, the record encapsulates the gritty, infectious groove that made him an indispensable session legend. The tracklist is an expertly executed masterclass in interpreting massive contemporary hits.
