Album Notes & Community Reviews

Tsuruta sings 'Atsumori', the Heike episode of the young general slain by Naozane, in the text adapted by Togai Tanaka, in a performance running close to half an hour. Yokoyama answers with the honkyoku 'Kok奴' for solo shakuhachi, pairing the two defining narrative and contemplative traditions of their instruments.
