Recorded shortly after his departure from Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze's solo debut is a monumental, synthesizer-free exploration of early ambient drone. Utilizing a broken organ, heavily manipulated orchestral tapes, and primitive amplifiers, 'Irrlicht' is a profoundly hypnotic, fiercely avant-garde masterwork that generates an incredibly dark, wonderfully ominous, and deeply atmospheric space.
