Subtitled 'Eine elektronische Winterlandschaft' (An Electronic Winter Landscape), 'Mirage' is a significant work of the Berlin School, utilizing an array of analog synthesizers to create its stark, atmospheric, and minimalist sound. The album consists of two extended, slowly developing compositions that evoke a sense of glacial stillness and eerie, crystalline beauty through layered synth textures, ethereal choirs, and subtle sequencer patterns. Considered one of Klaus Schulze's most personal and uncompromising works, its somber and meditative qualities reflect a departure from the more rhythmic-driven electronic music of the era.
