Angst

Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Angst' marked a pivotal shift for KMFDM, representing their first album recorded in the United States and a move towards a more guitar-centric, rock-oriented sound. Engineered in America by Chris Shepard and featuring the notable addition of steel guitarist Mark Durante, the album's production melds aggressive metal guitar riffs and pounding industrial machine-beats with accessible pop-structured choruses. The revitalized collaboration between founders Sascha Konietzko and En Esch resulted in a commercial breakthrough that successfully crossed the band over from the industrial scene to mainstream metal and alternative audiences.
