Merry Xmas

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Applying his deeply eccentric, faux-exotic persona to the holiday repertoire, the mysterious television star provides a highly unusual seasonal listening experience. Korla Pandit utilizes the electric Hammond organ to create heavily stylized, vibrato-laden interpretations of familiar carols that hint strongly at the emerging Exotica movement. The album is a fascinatingly bizarre, highly atmospheric artifact of early 1950s novelty pop.
