Korn's fourteenth studio album was conceived and recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic, which allowed the band more time to experiment and focus on the songwriting process without the usual pressures of touring schedules. The band recorded the album to analog tape, a method they hadn't used in years, to achieve a warmer and more direct sound. The album is notably one of the band's shortest, clocking in at just over thirty-two minutes.
