Album Notes & Community Reviews

Canadian-born pianist Kris Davis recruits an unusual ensemble, prominently featuring turntablist Val Jeanty and drummer Terri Lyne Carrington, to execute this highly inventive jazz project. The compositions bridge acoustic avant-garde improvisation with spoken word samples and distinct rhythmic hip-hop undertones.
