Album Notes & Community Reviews

Produced by Rick Rubin, 'Radio' was the first full-length album released on Def Jam Recordings and a massive, paradigm-shifting moment for hip-hop. L.L. Cool J鈥檚 incredibly confident, fiercely boastful lyricism dominates a stark, highly minimalistic production style built almost entirely on booming Roland TR-808 drum beats and turntable scratches. It is a remarkably raw, energetic, and rhythmically punishing masterpiece of mid-school rap.
