No One Was Driving the Car
by La Dispute
La Dispute's fifth studio album, 'No One Was Driving The Car', is a self-produced conceptual work exploring themes of existential dread, technological anxiety, and the loss of personal control in the modern world. [11, 12] Inspired by a real-life automated vehicle crash, the album's cinematic post-hardcore sound balances explosive, screamo-tinged passages and quieter acoustic moments, with frontman Jordan Dreyer's poetic, spoken-word delivery arranged into a distinct narrative structure of five acts.
